Analysis of Lifespan of Plastic Pallets and Containers in Korea Using Probability Density Function (PDF)

Pallets and containers are reused for a long period of time circulated shared among consumers via pool system. Although attempts have recently been made to convert an EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) system in Korea, it is difficult calculate their mandatory recycling rates because they treated as the same waste, even though clearly different from disposable consumer goods plastic packaging materials. In this study, we tried waste generation based on lifespan pallets using probability density function. The life distribution each material (PE (polyethylene) PP (polypropylene)) was derived, by applying this, amount 2010 2027 estimated. Mean Time Failure 9.6 years PE 3.2 PP, containers, 16.5 12.2 PP.
